Seeing nearly 3 million hikers a year, the Appalachian Trail is a much anticipated hike for many.  Less than a dozen cases of foul play have occurred on the trail since it opened.  However in 1981, hikers Susan Ramsay and Robert Mountford Jr would embark on their journey that sadly ended as a horrific tragedy.  Years  went by and in 2008, two fisherman would be faced with the fight of their lives at the very same spot on the trail where Ramsay and Mountford were murdered.  Stay tuned to hear how the cases were connected and how the Appalachian Trail became the location of some of the most grisly acts of violence in the country.
